Girl Scouts San Diego
Girl Scout Gold Award: Patient Records Digization
By collaborating with a San Diego-based nonprofit, the Power of Love Foundation, I built and deployed a data collection and patient-records system for community health workers serving families in Matero, a settlement in Lusaka, Zambia.
I spent the early part of the project understanding how their health workers in this community operate (how they visit families, what they can realistically record in the field, what their programs were planning to grow into, and where the existing paper process was losing information). Using this knowledge, I architected the system around the most pressing gaps in healthcare.
My easy-to-use toolkit allows workers to create and update patient records, document each visit, review a patient's medical history before they arrive, and track medication adherence and mental health status, the two factors that most contribute to patient recovery. Through this system, I have helped ensure that patients do not get forgotten or neglected, allowing them to receive the proper care they deserve.
Alongside building this software, I spoke to hundreds of local elementary school students about global pediatric public health, helping them build empathy for kids their age around the globe who may suffer from preventable illness.

Student leadership
Student Empowerment Team, Design39Campus
My middle school had no student council and no formal way for students to raise anything with the administration. I started one. I wrote the proposal, got it approved, recruited the first group of students, and set up how the team would collect ideas from the rest of the school and bring them to staff.
It was the first student leadership body in the school's history, and it is still running today.
In 2024 I gave the keynote at 39X, an international conference for more than 200 teachers, principals and superintendents. I talked about how the team got started and what it takes for a school to give students a real say.

Cybersecurity outreach
CyberCEO
I co-founded CyberCEO at Del Norte High School in the summer of 2023. It is a student-run nonprofit that teaches cybersecurity to people who do not usually get taught it, and every session is free. I serve as president and director of curriculum. We now have 25 student members.
We run three programs. For fourth and fifth graders we do an Introduction to Cybersecurity assembly, covering what cybersecurity is, how to build a password that holds up, and how to spot a scam email, using games and live demos instead of lecturing. At senior residences we train the caretakers and staff who support residents, then leave behind a written guide on protecting accounts and what to do if a resident has already been targeted. At Del Norte we host an expert panel where professionals from the FBI, the defense industry, and cybersecurity training companies talk to students about the field.
We have worked with seven elementary schools, two senior residences, the 4S Ranch Library, and a summer camp. This year we are expanding past Poway Unified into districts that have no program like this. The work earned a second Presidential Volunteer Service Award Gold Medal.
